Over the years, and most recently the last couple of days, I’ve been asked whether I have a Patreon account thingy, which I did not. I’ve been encouraged to create one by readers who would like to support my writing. I am extremely touched by this. Sooooooo…..

I’ve created a Patreon page.

I’ll be frank: I’m still figuring it out! I’ve been talking with other writers/artists and spending a lot of time haunting how others have set up their pages and the pros and cons and such. I was looking for a way to create Rewards based on a monthly donation versus a one-time donation, and the site doesn’t seem to support that, so I’m trying to figure it out, as it may be a good way for me to collect money for hard copies down the road. But we’ll start simple.

Compromise

My question of whether readers would like a chapter of Blackbird, Fly as a Christmas present has elicited very polarised responses. Some of you would love the next chapter. Some of you would rather wait so there’s no gap in reading Part 2. The split is almost exactly 50/50, so it’s hard know what to do!

So here’s my solution. I’ve been working on another Sherlock fanfic for a while now, whenever I needed a break and because the story was in my head and needed to get out. The first seven chapters take place during the Christmas holiday, and it only seems appropriate that they be read during Christmas (and I don’t want to wait for next Christmas). So I will offer you this new fic instead, a whole seven chapters released every other day for two weeks beginning tomorrow. I’ll begin releasing Blackbird, Fly in the new year.

I hope that pleases both parties, or neither. 🙂 I don’t know how people will respond to a story outside of the Fallen universe.

Well, another six weeks has slid on by and another pod is complete!  For anyone who doesn’t like WIPs, here’s the full Monty.  I would encourage you to heed the tags but don’t be put off by them – this is a wonderfully written story from @engazed and, while there are some gruelling passages, they come with specific warnings and can be skipped!

Next week I’ll be posting a series of one-shots, so if you’d like to be left in peace and removed from the tag list, please let me know; you may feel a little bombarded!  Conversely, if you want in, just send me a message (or, even better, reblog this and say ‘add me’!!)

The first five chapters of the podfic for Ten Days has been posted, for those who are interested in listening to the story performed by the amazingly talented @lockedinjohnlock-podfics. Even though I, you know, wrote the thing, it is such an interesting and captivating experience, listening to it read aloud. An entirely different experience, to be sure, wherein the characters take on new life.

And as far as updates to Blackbird, Fly: I have two more chapters to write of Part 2, and wee bit of revision to clean things up, and I’ll be ready to start posting again. Thank you all so much for your patience and support!
